Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zakharova said Tuesday that < b > Russia is demanding that NATO abandon its 2008 commitment that "one day" it would make Ukraine a member of the U.S.-led military alliance. She said it would be unacceptable for Russia to let Ukraine join NATO, but it would not be enough for Russia to simply deny Ukraine membership.
