U.S. stocks ended sharply lower, with the Dow down 2.48%, the Nasdaq down 2.55%, and the S & P 500 down 2.36%. Big tech stocks fell broadly, with Nvidia and Oracle down more than 4%, Amazon and Meta down more than 3%, Microsoft and Google down more than 2%, and Apple down nearly 2%. Tesla fell nearly 6% as the company postponed plans to manufacture an affordable version of the Model Y in the United States.
