Weisman, chief economist and portfolio manager at MFS Investment Management, said in a note that Federal Reserve Chairperson Jerome Powell is likely to point out at this week's meeting that the U.S. Treasury market is functioning normally after a brief bout of turmoil. Mr. Powell is also likely to point out that liquidity tools are available if market conditions permit, and there may be arguments for ending QT altogether as bank reserve balances fall. But Mr. Weisman said Mr. Powell was unlikely to feel the need to do more in this area in the near future, given that the Fed had just slowed the pace of QE.
