Founder of SkyBridge Capital: Trump's "meme coin and other crypto businesses create" avenues "for corruption

According to Anthony Scaramucci, a short-lived former White House communications director and founder of SkyBridge Capital, US President Donald Trump's meme coin and other crypto businesses have created "pathways" for corruption.
Speaking at the Financial Times Digital Asset Summit, Scaramucci said the Trump family's involvement in cryptocurrencies - including the president's Solana Terrier, World Liberty Financial, and the Trump media's partnership with Crypto.com - was a "distraction" that hindered bipartisan consensus around cryptocurrencies.
"Let's assume they're innocent," Mr. Scaramucci said of the Trump family and its crypto business. "But I do think there's some sort of pathway to corruption, to potential bribery, to'nefarious activity ', if you can call it that. I think we want people to get rid of those pathways, or rule them out altogether."
Mr. Scaramucci, who briefly worked for President Trump for a few days in 2017, said removing those "distractions" "would make cryptocurrency more accessible to the elderly among members of Congress who remain skeptical".
