Citi Report: Stablecoin Market Cap Could Reach $3.70 trillion by 2030

In its Future of Finance research report, Citigroup forecasts that stablecoins will gradually replace some domestic and overseas cash reserves over the next five years and become part of banks' short-term liquidity tools. The report says that with regulatory support, the market value of stablecoins will reach $1.60 trillion in 2030, or $3.70 trillion in an optimistic scenario. Fireblocks data shows that the use of stablecoins is shifting from transaction settlement to the payment field. The current transaction volume of payment companies has reached 16%, and it is expected to increase to 50% within a year. The current total market value of stablecoins is about $240 billion, mainly USDT and USDC.
