MIIT: Accelerate 5G-A and 6G technology research and development, industrial cultivation, and application development

On May 17, the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day 2025 and the 160th anniversary of the founding of the International Telecommunication Union were held in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. Zhang Yunming, vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and chairperson of the China Society of Communications, said that accelerating the development of 5G-A and 6G technology research and development, industrial cultivation and application, empowering the construction of a modern industrial system; pay more attention to meeting the needs of enterprise development, improve market access, fair competition, credit management and other basic systems, promote the coordinated development of the industrial chain, the integrated development of large and medium-sized enterprises, and cultivate and expand new quality productivity; pay more attention to meeting the needs of economic transformation, and further promote the cross-regional and cross-industry collaborative construction of new network infrastructure. Promote the industrial Internet into parks, bases, and clusters, serve the high-end, intelligent, and green development of the manufacturing industry, and help build a modern economic system; pay more attention to meeting the needs of international cooperation, and deepen international exchanges and cooperation in various fields such as technology, standards, industries, and policies. Actively participate in global digital governance bilateral and multilateral consultations and mechanism construction, and better integrate into the international industrial development pattern.
