Cryptocurrency executives step up security after a series of kidnappings

According to Bloomberg, Amsterdam, Netherlands-based private security firm Infinite Risks International is receiving more and more inquiries about bodyguard services, and there are also more and more long-term clients signing up for private security services. In addition, there have been at least three kidnappings so far in 2025, and French law enforcement officials recently announced enhanced security measures for cryptocurrency entrepreneurs and investors. These measures include providing security briefings to entrepreneurs and their families and expediting their contact with the police in case of an emergency.
French law enforcement has also advised cryptocurrency investors not to flaunt their wealth or wear clothing with cryptocurrency branding to reduce the risk of them being targeted. This disturbing series of incidents highlights the need for proactive security measures and vigilance among cryptocurrency investors and industry professionals.
