According to CNBC, tech giants OpenAI, Oracle, Nvidia and Cisco today announced a partnership to build the "Stargate UAE" artificial intelligence campus in the United Arab Emirates. The project is located in Abu Dhabi and will cover 10 square miles with a total power capacity of 5 gigawatts. Under the agreement, OpenAI and Oracle will manage a 1 gigawatt computing cluster built by the UAE company G42, with Nvidia providing chip support and Cisco and SoftBank handling the connectivity infrastructure. The first 200 trillion-watt AI cluster is expected to go live next year. Nvidia CEO Jen Hsun Huang said: "Artificial intelligence is the most transformative force of our time. With Stargate UAE, we are building the artificial intelligence infrastructure to power the UAE's ambitious vision." The project is part of a series of artificial intelligence collaborations announced by the Trump administration during a trip to the Middle East last week and the first international version of the $100 billion joint AI infrastructure project announced by OpenAI, Oracle and SoftBank in January.
