Bitcoin miner MARA joins MIT Media Lab

MARA, a bitcoin mining company, has announced that it has joined the MIT Media Lab. The two parties will explore how digital energy technologies can support the energy system. MARA will monetize excess energy and balance the grid with flexible electricity demand, and explore new ways to use digital energy technologies such as bitcoin mining to advance the energy system.
