According to Decrypt, crypto advocacy groups such as the Blockchain Association, CoinCenter, the DeFi Education Fund, and the Bitcoin Policy Institute have called for the case against bitcoin mixing service Samourai to be dismissed. The groups argue that SamouraiWallet simply helps people perform financial transactions online and does not violate U.S. law. Despite this, a federal judge this week refused to accept amicus briefs from the groups. This comes after the U.S. government shut down SamouraiWallet and arrested its developers, accusing the app of being an "unlicensed money transfer business" and being used by criminals.
