According to Blockworks, OpenSea announced that it will completely shut down the OS1 version on June 16. The new version of OS2 will not retain a number of features including Deals (custom transactions), British auctions, testnet support, and shopping carts. OpenSea said that Deals and British auctions were cut due to low usage.
The decision sparked controversy in the community, with several users concerned that removing the Deals feature would increase trading risk. OpenSea Chief Marketing Officer Adam Hollander explained that the feature was incompatible with the ERC721-C contract, which enforced royalties, resulting in an inconsistent product experience.
