Web3 security firm CertiK reports that in the first half of 2025, Web3 security lost nearly $2.50 billion, with a net loss of $2.29 billion, exceeding the full year of 2024. Two major incidents, Bybit and Cetus Protocol, caused $1.78 billion in losses, accounting for 72% of the total. Excluding these two incidents, the industry lost $690 million, and the industry risk distribution remains complex. In the second quarter, phishing attacks lost about $400 million, making it a major threat. CertiK recommends that the industry strengthen front-end protection and real-time monitoring to cope with threat escalation.
