Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse shared his thoughts on VP Kamala Harris and cryptocurrency policy on social media platform X on Wednesday.
First, he warned that "making conclusions and assumptions about candidates based purely on political positions without any policy recommendations is holding back the crypto industry (similar to what tribalism has done for years)," adding: Vice President Harris is no stranger to Silicon Valley, and she has an incredible opportunity to recalibrate key issues of American competitiveness (such as cryptocurrency regulation).
Garlinghouse noted that he remains open-minded, but he warned that if Harris adopted Sen. Elizabeth Warren's remarks, she might underestimate the political complexities involved in figures such as Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairperson Gary Gensler.
