Cardano has completed the first phase of the Chang hard fork, laying the foundation for more decentralized governance.
At 5:44 a.m., Cardano officially began transferring control of the $13 billion blockchain to its native ADA token holders.
Frederik Gregaard, chief executive of the Cardano Foundation, said: "Many in the Cardano community favour the network because of its commitment to a decentralised governance model."
