On September 12, the Hong Kong-listed company E-Telecom released its 2024 interim report, in which it disclosed that E-Telecom has purchased shares of Hong Kong Virtual Asset Exchange Limited ("VAX") for HK $12.90 million to invest in VAX. VAX, a non-listed company, is applying to the Hong Kong Securities Supervision Commission for a license to conduct Type I (securities trading) and Type VII (provision of automated trading services) regulated activities under the Securities and Futures Ordinance to regulate virtual asset trading platforms in Hong Kong. As of June 30, 2024, E-Telecom Group held 165,385 shares with a carrying amount of approximately HK $1,543,000.
