The United States plans to impose tariffs of up to 271.2% on imported solar panels from four South East Asia countries

On November 30th, the US Department of Commerce made a preliminary ruling on November 29th local time, proposing to impose tariffs of 21.31% to 271.2% on solar panels from Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. Most of the solar panels installed in the United States are manufactured overseas, and about 80% of the imports come from the four target countries investigated by the Department of Commerce. The US Department of Commerce will make a final ruling on April 18, 2025, and the US International Trade Administration will make a final ruling on June 2. The final order is expected to be issued on June 9.
