Zcash may be taken off the shelves by Binance, causing dissatisfaction in the industry and renewed regulatory pressure on privacy coins

Binance voted to remove one of the three Zcash (ZEC), FTT and JASMY tokens from the shelves, causing strong dissatisfaction among privacy coin supporters. Zcash founder Zooko Wilcox and DCG founder Barry Silbert, Ledger CTO and others have publicly spoken out against it, emphasizing the importance of privacy rights. ZEC is currently worth about $500 million, and the price fell 3.1% to $31.26 in 24 hours. Privacy coins have long been under regulatory pressure, and the European Union has proposed a total ban on such tokens.
