Trump: US spends $200 billion a year to subsidize Canada

President Donald Trump tweeted, "I look forward to meeting with the new Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney. I very much want to work with him, but there's a simple truth I can't understand - why does the United States subsidize Canada $200 billion a year, provide them with free military protection, and many other things?
We don't need their cars, we don't need their energy, we don't need their lumber, we don't need anything they have except their friendship - which hopefully we can keep forever. On the other hand, they need everything we provide! The Prime Minister is about to arrive and that's probably the only thing I care about. "
