Bitcoin ecosystem stablecoin project Aegis announced the completion of the $2 million Pre-Seed round of financing, led by Dewhales Capital, with participation from Profluent Ventures and a group of angel investors. The new funds will be used to support its development of bitcoin-backed stablecoin YUSD, which is stable by establishing Delta neutral positions and selling BTC margin perpetual contracts equal to its bitcoin exposure.

Serra Wei, CEO of Aegis Custody, which provides custody technology solutions for local banks in Hong Kong, said that discussions between Hong Kong ETF issuers and regulators on ether pledges have been healthy, adding that this would be in line with the local regulatory system. Serra Wei, who was not involved in the discussions with the Hong Kong Securities Supervision Commission, believes that including the pledge in the spot ether ETF will be a milestone event for Hong Kong.
