Lombard has partnered with the Eigen Foundation to officially bring its liquid staked bitcoin token, LBTC, into the EigenLayer re-staking system. The partnership allows bitcoin holders to earn basic income through the Babylon protocol and receive additional rewards in the EigenLayer. EigenLayer said in a post on the X platform that it plans to officially launch the main network Slashing mechanism on April 17. Slashing allows AVS to set conditions that operators must abide by. If operators fail to meet the requirements, AVS can punish them, and otherwise give rewards. Slashing will be implemented in stages, and operators and pledgers need to choose whether to accept the Slashing standard.
